Built for pressure: New ACTIROX abrasive belt AK895Y increases efficiency

VSM is expanding the ACTIROX portfolio with a new abrasive belt specially developed for grinding processes with very high contact pressures. AK895Y performs flawlessly in heavy-duty applications, such as bevelling and removal of sprues and gates.

In grit size 36+, the ACTIROX belt with geometrically shaped ceramic grain demonstrates exceptional performance, especially when grinding unalloyed steels. Its combination of extremely high stock removal and long service life helps maintain consistent grinding performance even under the toughest conditions.

For users, this means: Faster processes, fewer belt changes and a significant reduction in processing costs.

 

AK890Y: Superior performance in a wider range of grit sizes

The AK890Y abrasive belt delivers impressive performance when grinding superalloys and stainless steel under low to medium contact pressure. Previously available in grit size 36+, it is now also available in grit sizes 60+ and 80+.

ACTIROX combines high grinding performance with consistent surface quality in real-world applications. The technology achieves higher stock removal rates than typically expected from the grit size — without producing a noticeably coarser finish. With the expanded grit range of 36+, 60+, and 80+, AK890Y offers even greater process efficiency by helping save time and often eliminates the need for additional work steps.
